• Few realize that along with fireman and rescue workers, journalists were some of the first to arrive on the scene as the planes crashed into The World Trade Center.

Behind the Lens: Covering 9/11 is a compelling take on how five photojournalists risked their lives to bring the world images of the events of September 11^th, 2001.

• Bringing never before seen video from Ground Zero and coupled with in-depth interviews from photojournalists, the audience is given a behind the scenes view into the unique world of gathering news in a crisis.  We learn the intimate details of what these photojournalists endured to cover this atrocity; from being buried alive to lensing photos that continue to create controversy and now sit in the Library of Congress.  We are also given a unique glimpse into the emotional toll and how the event continues to affect them to this day. 

• Behind the Lens: Covering 9/11  navigates through the vast destruction at Ground Zero and beyond. From a cleanup worker who believes he’s found a survivor to a fireman’s widow burying her husband to an FBI technician separating bones from rubble, this film looks through a lens that few people have seen before. The sights and equally important, the sounds will place you at Ground Zero, experiencing that fateful day as these photographers did.

• Behind the Lens: Covering 9/11 was Directed, and exclusively shot by Anthony Fioranelli. Mr. Fioranelli has been a freelance photojournalist for the past twenty one years and has covered every major news event in the New York City vicinity. Mr. Fioranelli also Produced alongside television veteran and the film’s editor Rob Naylor. Mr. Naylor’s list of credits include: directing 4 short films and editing John’s Waters’ theatrical release, “This Filthy World”. Additionally he has produced and edited more than 30 short form documentaries.  He is currently a producer and editor for the daily live television program, “The View”.
